13th Annual Back-to-School Celebration Returns to TD Garden

3,000 Boston Students to Receive Free School Supplies & Celebrate Upcoming School Year at TD Garden

BOSTON, MA (August 1, 2024) – TD Garden Neighborhood Charities — the philanthropic arm of TD Garden — along with The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division and the City of Boston are proud to announce that the 13th annual Back-to-School Celebration will return to TD Garden on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to equip thousands of local students to go back to school. Qualified students and families in the Greater Boston area who are interested in registering should visit salvationarmyma.org/backtoschool. Pre-registration is required.

"We’re thrilled to welcome another 3,000 students to our 13th annual Back-to-School Celebration, thanks to our longstanding partnership with The Salvation Army and the City of Boston,” said Glen Thornborough, president of TD Garden and COO of the Boston Bruins. "We are proud of our commitment to the community and this event held at TD Garden gives lasting memories and support to all in attendance."

Along with support from the Boston Bruins Foundation, Garden Neighborhood Charities has donated 50,000 backpacks and more than 500,000 school supplies since 2012. This donation reflects TD Garden Neighborhood Charities and its partners’ commitment to equip students with all they need to be successful this year and well into the future.

“Together we’re easing the financial burden parents experience at the start of the school year and helping boost kids’ confidence,” says Major Elijah Kahn, General Secretary, The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division. “We are grateful to our community partners at TD Garden and City of Boston for coming alongside to ensure that when thousands of Boston-area children head back to school, they’ll have the tools to start the year off right.”
